Hole Description
A short slight dog leg right to left par 4 provides an opportunity to start the round with a par or birdie. But a big oak tree awaits a pushed tee shot and the distance on the approach is difficult to judge.

Hole Description
The ideal tee shot is a slight draw which sets up a mid to short iron to the green. A well struck second can hold the front to back sloping green but anywhere short leaves a difficult chip and long can be lost.

Hole Description
Members will tell you this is the toughest hole to par on the course. The shot from the tee must have height to carry the tall oaks and the green has many subtle breaks.

Hole Description
Only big hitters will consider trying to drive the horseride from the tee - and most would argue the risk is greater than the reward. More prudent is a medium to long iron from the tee that then requires a well struck and accurate medium length approach to the elevated green.

Hole Description
The signature hole. An inviting tee shot from an elevated green can set up a good chance for a par or better. But anything short or offline makes this hole a challenge requiring an accurate approach to a green that always poses a putting challenge.

Hole Description
A straightaway par 5 requires control from the tee and good positioning of the second to open up the approach to the green - only big hitters might be tempted to go for it in two. Tightly surrounded by trees, the shot to the green must be accurate. Three putts is always a possibility on the left to right sloping green.

Hole Description
A short par 4 provides some respite. Most will play a medium to long iron or hybrid from the tee to the right side of the fairway. A good shot will set up a short iron or wedge to a sunken green - but a ditch just short of the putting surface awaits anything mishit or topped. Expect a par or better - but you don't always get what you expect.

Hole Description
A longish par 4 requires two good hits to get to the green in regulation. At all cost avoid the pond to the left on your approach, but a "safe shot" into the "grass bunke"r just short and right ups the degree of difficulty of any chip to the green. Subtle breaks makes most putts easy to misread. A bogey is not a disaster on this hole.

Hole Description
An attractive medium length par 3, the tee shot should not have anything to do with the pond in front of the tee but the trees to the left are a threat. The main defence of this hole is the undulating green which will challenge the best of putters.

Hole Description
A great hole. The tee shot is intimidating with trouble right and left - but long and straight drives are welcomed by a fairway that becomes more open the longer the shot. The approach to the green is difficult to judge - in Summer take once or two less clubs than you initially think.

Hole Description
What you see is what you get. Remember there is a ditch running across the fairway - out of range from the tee but in play for the second. Better putting back up this green than short. But don't forget to enjoy the view - a stunning backdrop to the hole.

Hole Description
A challenging par 3 requires a well struck and accurate tee shot. Anything just short of the green is ok but long and left leaves a tough touch shot to the green avoiding the big oak tree. Wlak off with a par and you walk happily to the next tee.

Hole Description
Playing from the same tee as the 5th hole the challenge is to get good position from the long iron or drive to have a chance of getting to the green in regulation. Remember the job is far from over once on the green - this may be the most difficult green on the course to two putt.

Hole Description
A very different challenge to the 7th hole with a left to right dog leg suiting a fade from the tee. Too far left brings the rough into play and increases the difficulty of hitting a controlled shot to the green. Good position off the tee sets up an inviting approach shot - but no rewards for anything long or right.
